USM ALUMNI HELP RAISING FUND FOR STUDENTS DURING MCO

Thank you Alumni poster

Alumni Development Centre (ADC) and USM Alumni Association (PAUSM) handed over a RM38,400 cheque to Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). This donation campaign is an initiative to help the students stranded in campus due to the MCO (Movement Control Order).

"The contribution is a show of support towards the university’s move to help the students and is extremely valuable to students who remained in the campus during this time," said an ADC representative.

Meanwhile, USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan also congratulated and thanked USM alumni who were concerned during this difficult time and extended their care through this contribution.

The cheque was presented to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Development and Alumni Affairs (HEPA), Professor Dr. Aldrin Abdullah, for USM student food aid. USM has approximately 3,000 students during MCO in all its campuses.

The government extended the MCO until 12 May 2020 to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 and the public are advised to apply social distancing and appropriate hygienic practices during that time.
